Eight Sleep unveils the Pod 6: 18 sensors and 20% faster cooling

Eight Sleep has introduced the Pod 6, the sixth generation of its intelligent sleep system, calling it its "biggest hardware launch yet," report Engadget and The Ambient. Pricing starts at $1,999 / £1,799.

18 biometric sensors

The Pod 6 packs 18 biometric sensors, versus just two on the Pod 5 — "nine times more," per the company. They track heart rate, breath rate, heart rate variability, snoring and sleep stages, all without a wearable.

Faster temperature response

The hub, 50% smaller and able to slide under most bed frames, pumps temperature-controlled water through the cover. Eight Sleep claims temperature response is about 20% faster than the Pod 5 — useful for night sweats or chills.

A first solo-sleeper size

Notably, the Pod 6 is the first to offer a twin/single size, opening the tech up to solo sleepers. The sensors feed the Autopilot AI, which automatically adjusts the cover based on sleep stage and ambient temperature.
