Apple has officially entered the foldable market. At its September 9, 2026 event — the first major launch led by new CEO John Ternus — the company unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
iPhone Duo: titanium, two displays, one A20 Pro
The iPhone Duo is built from grade 5 titanium and packs a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display plus a 5.4-inch cover display. The inner panel reaches 3000 nits of peak brightness, and a nano-texture finish helps reduce crease visibility. It is IP68 water- and dust-resistant — notable for a foldable.
Power comes from the same A20 Pro chip as the iPhone 18 Pro line, with a 48MP Fusion main camera and a 48MP ultra-wide, plus 4K120 Dolby Vision video.
Price and availability
- Starting at $1,999 (U.S.) in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB.
- Pre-orders from October 16, on sale October 23.
iPhone 18 Pro
Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with a variable aperture camera and the A20 Pro chip — the first iPhone 18 generation to follow the foldable's silicon.
